What we collect and why
If you submit the interest form, we store your email address and any role, institution, and interest choices you provide, together with the submission date. We use these details to record interest in ReviewerBase and, where selected, contact you about project updates, feedback, or a possible pilot partnership. Optional fields are voluntary. Your details are not published or sold.
We rely on your consent for this processing. Submitting without selecting a contact purpose records your interest but does not subscribe you to updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; this does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Hosting and technical data
The website is hosted on a Linode server provided by Akamai in the European Union. Hosting infrastructure processes technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. Our application holds temporary IP-based rate-limit counters in memory to limit abusive submissions. Counters expire after ten minutes and are discarded on subsequent requests or a server restart. Your IP address is not saved with your registration. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure for this protection.
Access to registrations is restricted to the operator and hosting providers as needed to operate the service. We use no advertising, analytics trackers, or browser cookies. Operational error logs are limited in size; the application does not log form contents or maintain visitor access logs.
Retention and your rights
We retain registrations for up to 12 months, or less when you withdraw consent or request deletion. The operator handles deletion manually. Any manual backup copies are kept for no more than 30 days and are removed when needed to fulfil a deletion request.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your data by emailing thomas.wolgast@openscientia.org. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. We may ask for enough information to confirm that the request concerns your own data.
There is no automated decision-making or profiling. This form records interest only; it does not create a reviewer account.
